Each puppy
is shipped "collect". So, when you arrive at the airport, you will
be responsible to pay for the plane ticket and kennel in order to
claim your puppy. The average price to expect at the airport is
approximately +/- $300. Please have a credit card or personal
check ready for the Northwest ticket agent upon arrival. You must
also have a valid drivers license to claim the puppy at the ticket
counter. The airline will not release a puppy without ID
under any circumstances--and the ID must match the name on the
flight schedule. IF your name is on the ticket--you MUST be the
one to claim the puppy.
It is airline
policy (and ours too!) to have a health certificate issued by our
vet in order to insure that the puppy is healthy and ready for
flight. The puppy might also need an additional shot or rabies
vaccine.($50 vet expense) We also live about 1.5 hours
(one-way) from Detroit Metro Airport. There is also an extra fee
for time and mileage.($125) The total extra charge for vet expense
and mileage to be paid to our kennel is $175.
